Istanbul 2008

Dear members of the World Debating community,
Koç Debate Club presents Istanbul 2008!

In order to ensure the quality of the adjudication, our Chief Adjudicator will be Samir Deger-Sen (2008 Worlds Champion, 2007 Euros Semi-Finalist, 2007 Oxford IV DCA) Our DCAs;
Alex Hill
Leela Koenig
David Tite

Besides the top-quality food from Koç University Divan Cafeteria and accommodation at the campus as in our previous tournaments, we know that socials are almost as important as – or even maybe more important than – the debates in a tournament. In order to maximize the fun you can get from Istanbul 2008, we will be providing free alcohol in our amazing parties and the legendary Bosphorus cruise as usual. In addition to all these, you may always expect some surprises from our organization team that has created miracles in Euros 2007 last summer as you have all witnessed.

Istanbul 2008 will be held between 3rd and 7th of August, 2008. The registration fee for this fantastic tournament with 6 rounds, team cap of 72 teams and 4 different outstanding parties – with free alcohol in each one – will be € 90 per person.

If you have experienced EUDC 2007 and want to experience something similar again; or if you haven’t experienced it and want to see what it is like to be in a top-quality summer tournament; or if you are just curious about what the prospective host of WORLDS 2010 is preparing for you in the last debating tournament before 2009 Christmas, you should definitely come to ISTANBUL 2008!!!

Registration is now open!
